12-5-09 Scheduled Maintenance
We’ll be using our regularly scheduled maintenance window on Thursday, December 5th. This will involve hopefully only a small amount of down time where we’ll be completely offline, as well as some Read Only time.

You can read about it here on Dgrin.
We’ll update here as we know more, but as of now, we’ll plan on 10pm PST.
EDIT: 0445 PST 11/23 – As of right now, we are NOT using this maintenance window.
Hi folks, very sorry for the late notice, but we’re going to be taking the site offline tonight, at around 10pm PST. We hope to keep the downtime to about an hour or so. We’ll post updates here. Thanks!
So this is embarrassing. We’ve had an important hardware rollout pending all week, waiting for our normal weekly maintenance window on Thursday night. Only last night, I was convinced it was Wednesday night, not Thursday, so I didn’t perform the upgrade we needed. (It’s been one of those weeks).
So, I’m sorry, but we have to take the site into read-only mode for a few minutes today. It’ll likely be late at night (after 10pm Pacific time) if at all possible. I anticipate us to be completely online during the upgrade, but we won’t be able to accept new uploads. I don’t expect the maintenance window to last more than 10-15 minutes, but you never know with these things.
Sorry again for the confusion. :(
During our normal scheduled weekly maintenance window, we’ll be doing some behind-the-scenes work that we don’t expect will affect site operations. In other words, we don’t think the site will be either down or in read-only mode. That being said, Murphy’s Law is always in full effect, so keep your fingers crossed…
Assuming things go according to plan, you may see moments of site slowdown as we rotate machines in and out of some of our clusters, but we expect them to be relatively minor and short-lived.
