		<description><![CDATA[SmugMug is currently offline.  It&#8217;s for just about the dumbest reason I&#8217;ve ever seen for a site being offline (our load balancer licenses expired &#8211; and the guy in charge of them knew they were expiring &#8211; but it had slipped his mind).

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><br /><p>SmugMug is currently offline.  It&#8217;s for just about the dumbest reason I&#8217;ve ever seen for a site being offline (our load balancer licenses expired &#8211; and the guy in charge of them knew they were expiring &#8211; but it had slipped his mind).</p>
<p>Thanks to the nature of the outage, we can&#8217;t even put up a friendly and apologetic error message, which makes things even worse. </p>

<p>We started this blog on January 29th, 2008, and I&#8217;m happy to report we haven&#8217;t had to use it yet.  Tonight that changes, which you can read about in the very next post.</p>
