Sorry for the late notice, but we will be using our weekly scheduled maintenance window tonight beginning at 10:00pm PST. We should only be going into read-only mode, and will do our best to keep it short. Please check back here for updates.
22:05 PST – read-only mode begins
00:00 PST – all clear! Tonight we did some minor database maintenance, thanks for your patience!
23:03 PDT – We just put the site into read-only mode in preparation for our software update tonight during our scheduled maintenance window.
00:10 PDT – The new software is live on the site, but we’re still in read-only mode while we test and debug.
01:30 PDT – The software is looking quite solid, but we’ve found a few small bugs we’re working through. You’ll probably see the site in and out of read-only mode a few times while we finish our testing.
03:00 PDT – The site has been fully operational now for quite awhile. We know of a few lingering bugs we’re currently working out, but most of them are minor. Barring any unforseen problems, we’re probably done with maintenance for the night, but if we find something, we will of course react quickly to fix it.
06:00 PDT – small bug for pros in their prosales pages – the details link for orders takes you to your homepage. We’ve fixed it internally and it’ll be live on the site a bit later today, sorry for the brief hassle!

You can read (and comment) on SmugMug’s software update we’re doing tonight over at this thread on Digital Grin.
We’ll probably begin somewhere around 10pm Pacific, and hope everything goes smoothly. The site will be in read-only mode for awhile while we check and test everything thoroughly, which means you won’t be able to login, add photos, comment, or buy prints & gifts.

A critical part of our infrastructure failed this morning and its backup is having issues as well. Our engineers are looking into it and will restore service as quickly as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience.
07:26 PDT – we’ve identified the problem and were able to fix it. now to bring everything else back online, sorry for the delay
07:45 – we’re in read-only, verifying everything is OK before we put everything back
07:50 – sorry, spoke too soon. a few components still need attention before even read-only. we’re working as fast as we can, sorry for the continued delay
